Content
The skills programme covers the following fundamental continuous improvement element:
- Managing Team Operations Objectives (Goal Alignment and Visual Management). Every team is structured according to mini-businesses, and has its own set of internal and external customers with whom it builds relationships. In addition, every team has a set of key performance indicators (KPIs); measures that it influences directly, and for which it is directly responsible.
The following aspects of managing a team are covered:
- Understand the role of your team’s function in achieving the overall goals and objectives of your organisation.
- Understand the concept of a mini-business; specify the physical requirements for a successful mini-business area; identify internal and external stakeholders, and actively work towards its creation and development.
- Formulate a mission, values, and clear performance objectives with your team, and align these with the goals of your organisation.
Manage the activities of your mini-business by:
- Applying appropriate visual management techniques.
- Holding effective team meetings.
- Applying time management tools and techniques.
- Maintaining records of all mini-business activities.
- Manage team performance.
