Encourage the development of positive relationships between managers and employees, as well as amongst co-workers. All businesses can foster positive workplace relationships, by creating a transparent environment, where employees feel free to contribute.

Content

Machines alone, no matter how sophisticated and automated they may be, cannot by themselves sustain the profitability and competitiveness of an organisation.

The role of the first-line manager, in developing good people relations on the shopfloor, cannot be over-emphasised; they are the managers of the large majority of the people of the business, who make products and service customers.

The areas that will be focused on includes:

• Select and induct new team members.
• Care for people at the workplace.
• Build good people relations at work.
• Manage conflict and negotiate effectively.
